Back on the job. Not much to report, just doing script breakdowns, shot lists and nailing down locations. Casting soon! Will need actors, drivers and extras...both people and karts:D

(Don't reply here. I'll make a seperate off topic thread for that when the time comes)

Doing script breakdowns is tedious! 93 different shots in Bandit episode trailer alone with every detail accounted for. Been at my PC for 12 hours now!

It's nice to take a break and see these props really exist while I grab me ANOTHER Dublin lol!

Nice effect...

... another thing to do for filmed burnouts is alil dish soap n water on the tire(or WD40), n a 4x4 block tied to a rope as wheel chucks... when ready to go... yank the rope to the side... burnout till ya run outta film/memory.

... to reproduce smoke... dry ice in a shallow tray w/ water in it... setting behind the wheel(as in under the engine), out of the camera view should do it.

.... just some ideas....

Production update:

We held a table read last night and had 15 actors reading various parts for the Rockford episode. It was awesome to hear the lines delivered and not just as voices in my head lol! Some of the kids who read really nailed it! One I am really glad to get now because I'm sure she will make the big time one day.

Auditions and casting coming soon!

Man! I'm really getting tired of Bullitt! Going on a year now and it's back on the shelf again. After spindle conundrums and mount bracing issues, now it's carburetor problems. I'm not going to weld on the pieces of flair and paint until he's successfully completed a reverse burnout.

You may remember I chose a reverse gear tiller motor and the previous troubles I had with it and a dropped fuel bowl. Well, the JB Weld didn't hold and being a tiller motor, there wasn't a good, responsive throttle attachment point. So in what I thought would be a quick swap I stole the carb and tank off another motor with a hole in the block.

It wasn't a 1:1 swap. The older motor had a narrower bolt pattern than the newer. So, I made a little adapter that worked great except, I spite of a through soaking in Chemdip, the carby still got some junk in it (which probably came when I drilled out that twisted off screw). And so I decided to give it an even more thorough, by the book, cleaning.

I've never removed "welch plugs" before but the book made it sound like they are 12 for a dollar at any local drugstore. They're not. So, while I wait 2-3 days for delivery, I'm moving on the the Orange Krate for a while.

Whoa....reverse burn out using the cam gear; nice!
Production is moving forward is also good to hear.
Sorry to hear about Bullitt troubles.

I must say the adapter idea is genius. especially since the bigger carb bolt pattern - style carbs seem to be more popular.

I too have a Briggs 5hp but from a chipper/shredder ( with smaller carb bolt pattern) and the carb and tank were crap. I had to toss them. I do however have a larger carb bolt pattern and tank. Maybe I should make an adapter too. Since I keep having air leak problems with the manifold I made to house a clone carb.

Anyways great work.

Thanks! The adapter part worked great. Had to grind a flat on one side of a nut and file a little off the block but together the don't need a backing wrench.

In other news. My moniker is chromatically correct again.

I hate painting inside! Silver dries so much better in the sun. But when it's cold and leaden outside this'll have to do.

I'm a little late in doing this but, here's my 2014 completed karts, before/after year in review. All in all, a pretty good year. 2015 will exponentially more awesome!
