What's a key way?

About 0.5 oz.

A buddy of mine, "Shorty" is going to be stunt driver and double for Jess. He's also the father of the boy I think I might cast as Brian. A paint and body man, he's offered to paint the General next week.

With that worry off my mind I'm moving on to Bullitt for a while. He's a little rough but the script calls for a junkyard kart that gets built in one morning(30 second build sequence.) Here's a little mock up of the flair. Going to have the louvers punched in the morning then hit it hard and try to knock it out.

Looking good. Just text me with a time and Ill come over with my 2 daughters to ride around. I'll bring over the plasma cutter/angle grinder/tig welder again so we can fix the spindle arm thing-a-ma-jig, take off some paint, and fix your vise.

I haven't had to do any 'work' since Dec 20th. Last day for play and then its back to the grind!

Where do you find these suckers to do all your work for you? :lolgoku:

I have been told I look like Faceman from the A-Team, lol

It's just the nature of indie filmmaking in a low-no budget. Most indie productions are just dialog. Some action is just fighting stunts. I had to find DIY people to do indie car chases on a low budget.

Man, I gotta get to work. Punching louvers doesn't take as long as bench racing with the guy that does them. Cool stuff and stories there though. Two salt flat cars and this what I snapped pics of.

Did you get the hood ornament purchased? I probably could have rushed it and shot color today and it would have been more than good enough for filming- but I'm making this thing super pretty for the little woman.

I doubt I'll spend all that time grinding down welds and bondo-ing them if I do another one for you. That was a PITA.....I'm going with the high dollar filler for the final touch up (Dynatron Putty-Cote.... $30 for 24oz.). Should be super nicely prepped by the time the weather is nice again. IDK how I'm going to wet sand when it's 20° unless I fall into propane money or do it in the kitchen. .....wait- that will be a good way to get the bondo dust off the floor that's in there now. :lolgoku:

I'm really looking forward to doing the props- I've already built them in my head. This is going to be cool.

Jaja.. less talking, more building Doug!

Ah.. now I feel better :D
thank you!

I can't wait to see the finished product (and by that I'm not only talking about the kart unfortunately)

Dennis?
If you need to raise more funds, did you ever considered kickstarter?
I think you might have some backers here ;)

I shot a reading coat of black lacquer on it a little while ago. Can I have a beer and visit the site while it dries before I go back to sanding until 4am? Sheesh! Talk about your slave drivers......:lolgoku:

NO.

You are allowed to have your beer and visit the site, while you UPLOAD PICTURES only!

JK,
since I don't have anything 'important' to play with atm (it's indeed almost 4am here) I can only calm my nerves watching you guys ;)

Awe man! I was going to give you Bandit next. J/k. I really appreciate yours and Grant's hard work. You will have special thanks in the credits.

Sid, I have enough to finish the karts and shoot the 5 teaser episodes out of profits from selling a truck. I plan to use the teasers to "Kickstart" the full series. So you'll get your chance...and thank you for your support!

Btw, my producer is from Germany:D

Bullit Progress

We did a little work on Bullitt yesterday. For some people you gotta see it to believe it... so here is a little documentary of the progress and the kids driving Midas at the end.

I'm really liking this camcorder now, full 1080p HD. Check out the short video

Thank you, great job!
And you made it look easy (I can't even tell if you marked the supports before cutting or did it free hand)

Be sure to make more videos, very nice to see more of all your efforts and work.

I'll bet you like that camcorder Gran_Pann. Gives you an excuse to hold something and watch Orange Krate work for a change. I can do the same thing with a beer tho.....:lolgoku:

Lookin' good guys. When I get a chance to drive Midas it will be you and not your daughter sayin' "I'm scared"......

I pretty much took the day off today.....just burned out right now. I played with the steering wheel a little bit- but mainly just made a cyberpest of myself. Anyway- what about the steering wheel on the drag kart? It's not like a bent one is a big selling point. I need the diameter of the grip before I even know if I want it.

 Oh wait...I got work to do!

Nice video! Makes me proud to be a part.

For those of you just tuning in, here's the car chase "Bullitt" will be recreating
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Lbs_nYW3-o

And though the teaser episodes will be shot in my neighborhood, here are some of the small towns in West Virginia where I like to shoot the full length episode once there's a budget for it.
