Hello, I though you guys would enjoy seeing some pictures of my new project.

A few months ago I came across & purchased the body from Larry's Nagel "Pocket Rocket" 5/16 scale Rocket Funny car and bought it.

My first thought was too hang it in the house. It was way too cool for that. I looked into differant ways of redoing it. To make it legal to race at a track would take about $75,000. and I wouldn't be able to build it myself.

The other way wouldn't cost near that, I would do it myself and not cut the body to fit a larger jet and not have to 10" to the wheelbase.

I decided to build my own chassis and use a Williams WR27 Turbine engine, convert it to thrust and add a killer afterburner. I think this engine will produce around 4- 500 pounds of thrust. In addition I plan on also using a eletric motor to get the car to the 50- 60 MPH fast, the Turbine will enhance and really push it to some MPH.

Here is a video of it from 1980, This car went 257 MPH in the quarter mile!!!

Hope you enjoy & thanks for the space!

It's been a while and I'm back on it, I got the rear tires on spindles and brakes hooked up. Once a brake line is in it I can roll down the ill infront our house.

I have done more measuring in and it doesn't look good for the engine Jet Engine I want is going to fit. I have a freind who is going to help me build a jet from a turbo.

Here is an update to the Pocket Rocket. I entered in the Cleveland Autorama so I need to get this sucker done by March. Right now I'm looking pretty good. Here are some pics of the progress.

My buddy Dino from here in Akron is handling the paint work for me. The car has 7 differant colors including 3 differant candy colors.

The turbine is coming along nice too.
