Hello, I though you guys would enjoy seeing some pictures of my new project.
A few months ago I came across & purchased the body from Larry's Nagel "Pocket Rocket" 5/16 scale Rocket Funny car and bought it.
My first thought was too hang it in the house. It was way too cool for that. I looked into differant ways of redoing it. To make it legal to race at a track would take about $75,000. and I wouldn't be able to build it myself.
The other way wouldn't cost near that, I would do it myself and not cut the body to fit a larger jet and not have to 10" to the wheelbase.
I decided to build my own chassis and use a Williams WR27 Turbine engine, convert it to thrust and add a killer afterburner. I think this engine will produce around 4- 500 pounds of thrust. In addition I plan on also using a eletric motor to get the car to the 50- 60 MPH fast, the Turbine will enhance and really push it to some MPH.
Here is a video of it from 1980, This car went 257 MPH in the quarter mile!!!

Hope you enjoy & thanks for the space!
