Hello everyone, this is my first post here so bear with me please. This is also my first project of this magnitude as well. I am basically taking an old lazy boy chair, it's a two seater putting it on a frame and using two go kart engines with torque converters on both of the back wheels to provide power and steering, each engine will be completely independent of one another. And the budget is hopefully low. My first dilemma is what front wheels to use, I thought about using heavy duty casters, like the ones on shopping carts. Thoughts on that would be much appreciated. My second dilemma is how to make up an axle assembly for the rear, I have no ideas here so anything would be appreciated at this point. Third, is how problematic will running two engines separate systems be, I assume there will be some type of problem here. Thanks in advance.

Two engines is a lot of power, and the caster idea sounds, well, horrible. Why not get an existing frame and engineer some levers between the seats to turn? You could also gear waaaaay down as I'm assuming this is a novelty and 30mph in a recliner is a bad idea?

I wouldn't use more than one engine. Trying to synchronize two engines on a gas pedal or handle will be a pain. I'd use a larger engine like say a Pedator 420, 40 series and I would go with a 10 on the cvt, 15 on the input of a jackshaft with a 10 on the output and a 60 tooth on the axle. But you're trying to power essentially a love seat, not a single La-Z-Boy chair.

30 mph? On casters? With that kind of high center of gravity? Lol, good luck bruh! I think you can do it! Make sure you get some big stickers for the side of your chair that say sponsored by MD 20/20 lol
