Just one more thing, I took the engine off and I took the carb off the block and cleaned it all, but when I put it back together it wouldn't start! I checked and it had spark. Then I notice that the gasket between the carb output and engine block was all riped and torn up and that the gas/air mixture could probalby escape out small gaps in the gasket. Do you think this is the cuprit? I smelled the exaust when I pulled the recoil and it didn't smell very gassy. How can I seal it so gas can't escape?

The air and gas probably wouldn't "escape" through there. If anything, you'd be pulling air in through those gaps, which wouldn't create the proper vacuum through the carb, which wouldn't pull in gas. You should replace the gasket. You can buy gastet maker material at auto stores if you can't find the exact replacement gasket.

I'm getting a 5hp engine for free off of a snowblower soon!

I thought it would be sweet on this bike. The 2-stoke mounts to a special mount thing which in turn mounts to what looks like a 4-stroke mounting plate on the frame. So do you guy think it'll work? The 2-stroke turned clockwise but I've heard that 4 strokes turn counter-clockwise so I'd just mount it on differently. could i get a #35 chain and mount it on there easily? i want to go with #35 cuz you can buy sprockets/chain/clutches for it anywhere as opposed to 8mm setup I have now.

Sorry, I don't know what way the motor turned but when the power got to the sprocket on the engine it was turning clockwise maybe there was gear changing in there or something. It's a chinese 50cc 2-stroke. Can't get to the snowblower yet.

No, the 2-stroke that originally was on the bike was 50cc

I'm getting a 5hp 4-stroke snowblower engine

^Here is the 50cc that was originally on the bike I pulled the rope and you're right it turns counter-clockwise but the drive sprocket ends up going clockwise

The guy said it's a 5hp tecumseh from the 1960's.


Do you think there is enough space inside the frame for the engine?

I thought about getting a kart frame and popping it on there but I weigh 215 so I doubt it'd push me very good. What do you guys think? Thanks!
