Could this be the reason why my engine is not revving up.

note: the needle is bent if you cant tell.

Idk the last owner probably screwed it in all the way and tightened it and it got smashed,
it wasnt running right when i bought it.
i tried a different carb and it ran perfect.

There is, or at least should be, a torque spec for installing carb guts.

He means that there is a torque for the main jet and other parts that can get smashed up easily. However you wouldnt want to torque down a mixture needle unless you want her realy lean!

Over tightening can crack certain carb bodies.

Question was answered on 2nd post.
Point is, if parts such as this are just rammed into carb, it will fail.
