We took the buggy out to a nice flat lot nearby for its first actual trial run. It just required a minor carb adjustment and timing reset and after that she ran great. Two kids (and 3 adults) beat on it for a solid hour with no failures. I'm pretty happy with everything as it is, so now its on to the big weekend in the desert in a couple of weeks. Full report to follow. (yeah I know the kid doesn't' have his helmet on) That will be required when we go out to the desert.

Can you paint it a different blue
T DIDN'T BREAK
Nothing broke, nothing shorted and caught fire, nothing leaked, it always started and it didn’t require constant adjusting. It was really weird, almost like someone knew what they were doing. We all know that ain’t the case here!

Sure Denny, you pick out the color, fly it out here, i’ll pick ya up at the airport and you can help paint it. (And drink beer).
oh, BTW that polyurethane enamel is $100/qt. 2 should do it.

Thats just the paint, then ya have activator and hardner to go with it. Oh yeah epoxy Primer….
Paint was by far the single biggest expense of the project.

DIDN'T realize how big that thing is. No wonder you need to get more horse power out of your engine. Hope you have a few ideas now on how to get some.
OH, about all that water they shipped to California, our Governor has already
pissed it all away and wants more.

Pretty sure he has all the ideas!

Amazing build. Looking at doing something similar without the roll cage.
Interesting choice for the ignition system. A+ for implementing the pick up on the clutch. Are you using just a stock gm,ford, dodge cap and wires?
BTW the aluminum sheets used for the body panels bring back early 2000's Mac PC tower vibes.

Yeah, its big and heavy! Its 9 Ft overall and north of 800lbs.

No cap and wires, no distributer at all. It's just a single cylinder so that's not needed. The first attempt at that didn't work very well. So I mounted the reluctor to the end of the crankshaft, outboard of the clutch stuff and put the pick up on a plate next to it with an adjustment for setting the timing. The original plan was it get a motorcycle engine, but there none available at a reasonable price around here. Someday.....
Or maybe I'll just do that on V 2.0

This whole site is full of unstable people! It happens when you get old. These days I fall over in a stiff breeze! I’ve even tripped over and fell on air!
