if u got 3 volts from the small wire and no click i would assume there is not enough voltage going to the solinoid try and find how much volts it needs

hot wire straight to the small terminals with a 9 volt batt

did that, no click. i'll try 12v

they both click with 12v. when i extended some of the wiring i used some thin wire, it might be restricting flow. I'll replace the wiring then get back to you.

id be careful because if u put 12 volts though the system then it would defy the piont of the soliniod and might blow something
i dont know if all soliniods click but all the ones i see do and it makes sense that they do
have u changed all the connectors as if u got water in one and it rusted it would be the cause of the lack of voltage

cleaning connectors sounds easier so I'll do that first.

its fixed the reason it wasnt starting was because my coil wasnt grounded (a simple mistake). i feel pretty **** stupid. its not all bad though, since i have my wiring apart i am going to add lights, a horn and a 12v plug for a spotlight or other electrical device.

what should i do about the petrol in my crank case?
should i drain the crank case, leave the oil plug out for a while so the petrol can evaporate and then put some fresh oil in it.

id drain it then put more oil in and run the engine to mix it up then drain it again

just drain it out, make sure no petrol is left in it, that would not be good when your running it

personally id do that as well but if your cautious then yeah
