Hey ben, if you wanna protect the kart against rust im using this white knight rust guard stuff, so far its held up better than galv paint, rust buster, red oxide its not too bad $29 for a litre better than hammerite, its thick and spreads out nice, and you can spray paint over it, its in spray cans and tins.

Just thought id let you know, by the way how did you flip the cart?

Cheers, Cam.

I've got plenty of wire so i won't need to pull a washing machine apart.
and i would have soldered my wire but i just got lazy.
i have been waiting for somebody to ask how i flipped my cart. I was messing about in the paddock, skidding round corners and such and i went round one corner side ways and the back tires hit a bit of a hole/low spot in the, the tire just caught the edge and flipped me over.

haven't fixed it yet having issues with the wiring.
look at post #22, that's how i flipped it.

i soldered and heat shrunk all of my connections, put the wiring back on and she wouldn't start.
battery is fully charged, starter is good, i don't know why it wont start, if you have any theories let me know.
And any body knows where to get a wiring diagram for a 280cc SUZUKI king quad, frame #JSAAK42A0P2111202 please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.

I know about the wiring and all, i would think you would want to get the motor running mint before anything else, but if your not using it fair enough.

Try a couple of jumper leads from your battery to the startor terminals to see if the startor motor is working.

Multimeter is a good idea, i have one but it always seems to be flat when i got to use it...

Your starter cylinoid may be shot or the wire might be pulled into.

On the side of your starter cylinoid, there may a one peg with a wire bolted down to it or there may be two wires with a connector.

Take a test light and see if when you hit your starter button you should be getting current to one or both of the wires.

If you are getting current to the small wire, its the cylinoid that is bad.

If you are not, test up were the wire is neer the switch you have and see if you have current, if you do when you press the button you got a torn wire leading to the cylinoid.

Test and get back with us.

i don't know much about electronics but, i think this is my solenoid (attached pic). i checked the voltage across the two smaller wires, it was about 0.1v then i hit the starter and it went up to about 3v.

its a good thing i went out to the kart, because it has a large oil/petrol leak, i never turned the fuel off after i flipped it and i guess the cylinder filled up with fuel, and then it seeped past into the crank case, i gave it a pull (ignition off) and it sounded a bit rough inside.

did u test the voltage getting to the startor motor or the voltage going going form the startor soliniod
also when u hit the startor the sloiniod should click as it is activated

there is no click i tested it from the solenoid, and i just checked it again and got 0v.
i tried it with another solenoid, so i don't think it is the solenoid that is causing my problems.
