I was bored and some of you are too, so i challenge you to revive a forgotten flathead that is sitting in your corner taken apart or left to rot. i have a little flathead tecumseh i respect for lasting as long as it has i have taken the head off and it seems to be in ok shape it has awesome patina and i plan on trying a slide carb and trying to remove the clutch and govenor.

To do on the forgotten tecumseh:
Replace head bolts (with used briggs ones lol)
Attempt to remove clutch
Oil change
Wire brush old paint from block and covers
Try different carbs but probabaly make an intake
Attempt govenor removal
Port?
Go over small areas with dremel
Check spark
Fix pull starter engagement
Try to remove fly wheel

Ps. It doesnt have to be side shaft...

Decode progress: H50 (horizontal 5hp)

I need to get this old beat up tiller running.
I've gotten it to start, but it only sparks SOMETIMES, so I think new points are needed, plus a condenser. Plus I need to clean out the carb and tank real good. After that, I need to replace the belt and go over the rest of the driveline, unseize the throttle cable, then I should have a working tiller! Eventually it will get a cosmetic restoration, with fresh paint.

I can't enter my 3 HP, since it runs. :p

I have a briggs and stratton model 29 12hp flathead vertical shaft sitting at my dad's. Was thinking about bringing it down here once I have a house. Possibly modifying it for a Renegade mower build. But that's at least 3 years done the road.
