if the engine has seen any amount of use, check the exhaust for carbon build up. you might as well check for that while you are working on it. it will suck a lot of power from the engine, and might make it stall after a few seconds of running, had that problem with a 26.2cc line-trimmer, and now its currently on my Ghetto Motor-Scooter.
