Yeah...the thug kart I worked on for Orange Krate had the same problem and that was my solution as well.

Hydraulic jack braced against a more resistant part of the frame....(the two × four will want to just pop off if not well secured, tho...)

Wait, the jack on the bumper? The bumper is what I want to straighten. I think the seat will give in before the bumper does no matter which way it's facing. ?

Ok gotcha. I'm not even to sure which is the clutch, drum, etc, I haven't really messed with that area yet.

I cant tell, but if the bumper is pushed back. not up, If just back It should push forward when you jack. there is a short bar under the seat between the center and side rail. and the bumper is a long tube so it will should bend first.
But you just go slow and you can see with each pump which bar is bending.

Like I said play with it, Just any kind of poormans Leverage will work.
Or cut it off, have one fabricated and welded on

Hmm, ok, I'll see. Thanks.

Doesn't seem GPS has that many bands, and kinda expensive from them. I'll probably get elsewhere, how much is our discount?

lol, of course! Right now I'm ordering motor parts, not sure if posting sites is allowed, I'm using jackssmallengines, best luck I've had on one site having all the parts I need. Carb and air filter from Amazon though.

Don't feel like starting a new thread. Hope this gets enough views or at least advice. I want to by one of the, I assume they're called, "rolling chassis" gokarts. This is the one for adults you could say, that I would put a Predator on. What do you guys think of this one? How much should I pay? I'm seeing anywhere from $350 - $1K for motorless/stripped ones.

You can find them for about $200 with a blown engine. This would be I think rolling chassis Sprint kart. They are a type of track kart that people race professionally and a mature.

Can't tell by the pics but I think this one has hydraulic disc brakes in the front as well as the one on the axle, other wise its just the single disc on the axle.

I don't know much about these, but I have seen some get them for $200 but they had blown engines and beaten up frames, as well as missing tires and wheels. $350+ sounds about right for ones in good condition, without any, to little damage and/or rust.

Ok, thank you very much. For some odd reason, people think used and broken items should cost 80% of the retail value, I don't get it sometimes. This one was the only reasonable one, but I won't pay $350, maybe he'll accept my $140 offer. I gotta see it in person. Thanks again.

If you ever have time, go to YouTube and watch CarsandCameras video on buying used go karts. They have several, and have bought a couple sprint karts. Each at around $200.

I do agree, some people want more for less. If possible, I'd rather not work harder than I need too, but if they're being difficult, I'd rather look more or build my own at some point. Just my thoughts, of course I like building my own things.

There could be something like a Kelly Blue Book for go karts, but I've never seen one or at least one that is remotely helpful.

Racing karts use tubular, precision ground axles. Yard carts typically use keyed solid rod axles. The difference can be hundreds of $.

While we're on the subject....EVERY thing is liable to be more expensive on a race kart. What is your purpose of buying a racing kart?

I wanted a more adult style, professional and cooler looking, faster one for myself. Which to me is the racing style rather than cart style, if that's the name? I really like how they look from seeing CarsandCameras.

I'd like to have a racing style one with slicks and a bigger motor, maybe the 13HP Predator. Those can fit on a racing chassis?

Also, my daughter is on vacation with her mother so I won't see her til next week :( and I don't work on her cart unless she's participating.

I'll get to work on my cart though, Thursday I should be receiving some shipments and I'll take pics and show progress. Grinding the paint has been very laborious and slow. The wire cup attachment sucks. I did try this other style "paint remover wheel" which is amazing, way faster and better, but wears down very quickly and can be expensive to keep replacing.

I'll be receiving paint and rust removers then I'll use the pad for final touch ups and hopefully start spraying. At least the primer anyway.
