First Kart!

Hey yall,
Totally new to the go kart scene, and have no clue what I'm dealing with here really... Three days ago, I bought what I think is an old Ken Bar Streaker Pace Setter with a 5hp Briggs Fun Power motor (with an animal recoil starter assembly from 2010?). It had an old Max Torque T10 3/4 #41 clutch that was completely busted, so I just ordered a new one yesterday. The kart only cost me 50 bucks, which seems like an OK deal? Sprocket has 60 teeth, half inch apart, so I'm assuming #41 chain? It appears I've got a 6:1 ratio... I have no clue if this is good or bad. Also, the sprocket is super close( . 5 inch?) to the ground. Is this okay or will it get in the way? So basically, is this a good kart set up for me and my 12 year old brother to have fun/ tinker with? What are some upgrades yall would do? Any advice on gear ratio I should run?

That all sounds real good actually.
Except the 1/2in ground Clearance.
You can easily fix that with Taller rear tires.
6:1 is a perfect ratio. and with that you can run up to 15" tall tires.

Ken-Bar Streaker is a good kart, real sturdy and well made.

My rear tires are 15 x 6.00-6. Right on the money according to Chancer. My front tires are 13 x 5.00-6. I believe that's the factory setup for tires. Looks like your front and rear tires are almost identical in size whereas it should have a hot rod stance.

Here's one like mine. It's definitely channeling the General Lee theme...
