...While im here I was gonna remove the chain but cant find a master link... how do I get this sucker off?

Thanks.

What Ive done... when there is no quick link... I took a punch/tap small enough diameter(ive even used an ice pick before) that will fit into the chains pivot rod hole(once punched out) and hammer/tap out a link. In your case the safest/stablest place would be at the gears(JShaft one looks alil more sturdy). Then go buy a new chain... cut to fit(make sure to adjust motor positioning if needed), and tadda:wai:... no more worries for the future!

... and bout the driver... sounds to me the clutch springs inside may have eaten a groove into the opposing pully's inner race(inside part you cant see where the clutch engages/locks to the inside race of the pully), and may have rusted itself on there... IMO... id replace the procedure youre doing "gentle" to "full force". WORSE case scenario is you have to buy a new driver... which is probably cheaper than youd think.

Thanks! I got my TC ordered up and im coming up with a parts list of things I know need to be replaced.

Two more questions;

1. The jack shaft has a 9 tooth gear and the axle has a 54. What does this equate to in tearms of top speed or low end torque? I want to be able to swap tires and rear axle gear to have a good top speed and then when we can take it out to the desert change it to off road tires and and have more power on the low end.

2. From most of the pictures I find and diagrams this is not the stock muffler. Its rusted really bad on the bottom with a small hole in it. Kind of want a straight pipe on it :) With this 4cycle am I going to have an issue making a custom straight pipe?

Its been a bit, Im here in Phoenix AZ and we've had 100+ degree weather lately so not much time in the shop. I did get some progress done on the Kart. Completely stripped the kart, cleaned, sanded, primed and painted the frame. Cleaned the carb and replaced the float. New ignition coil and spark plug. New pull start. I think some other stuff, but cant recall right now. Just ordered my new comet 40 replacement parts!

(Asked my question in maybe a more appropriate section)

I think it idles just a little high, what do you guys think?

The breaks still need some adjusting. They are really hard to press down to get it to stop. And the lights worked when I dry fit them to make sure my layout was correct, get them on there and nothing! LOL. That's how it works for me though.

I rebuilt the seat, but I think I used to much padding. I sit about 2 inches closer than the stock seat. How do I know???

Cause I picked another Dingo 810 off craigslist today for $120....

Does the idle sound to high in that video?

Idle sounded ok, but I'm in a noisy shop. As long as the TC doesn't try engaging while it's idling, you should be good....
Love them rear tires!

I cant get them apart for the life of me,ive tried in a vice and huge adjustable wrench etc.. was scared id do damage to them so i let them be.. Id like to just to service them but i tried for 2 days. They work fine and im just running them for now.

I had a big issue with my Driver on my 40 series. PB blaster, bench vice, strap wrench and torche wouldnt budge the thing. I replaced mine with an knockoff version. My shop is limited and so was my patients lol.

It looked like that was the valve cover breather tube...
Are you sure oil level is not too high?

It seems odd that a type of exhaust port would exit into the air filter where it could just be sucked back into the carb. I get thats its intent, but I dont personally understand it.

Wouldnt it be better just to feed that tube off into the open air rather than the carb? Could I?
