1.What's A Live Axel?

Both wheels drive the kart.

2.Would I Get Some Accel/Speed If I Change The Shaft/Chain Sprocket To The Next Size Down?

Acceleration you would want a higher tooth sprocket on the axle, more speed lower teeth.

3.How Would I Know What #chain I Have?

35# is small, 40/41 looks like you could beat someone with it.

4.How Tight Does The Chain Need To Be?

Snug and not too tight but not flopping around.

5.What Type Of Brakes/Parts Would The Typical Riding Mower Have That Would Be Usable On A Kart (my yerfdog)?

I think a lawnmower uses their transaxle for brakes..engine brake or something. A band brake for your kart is cheapest, but doesn't stop as good as the more expensive disc brake, similar to a car.

What Kind Of Oil Shoul I Be UsingManual Says 30 But I've Put In Penzoil 10w30.I've Read That Some Use5w30 & Or Synthetic/Addatives Pros & Cons On Oils For The 6.5HP Harbor Freight Engine?

Just use regular oil, 10w30. No need for synthetics.

6.Kibble Drew A Diagram For A Starter/Solenoid For A Go Kart To Just Go Reverse(instead of driver/pass doing turning the kart themselves) How Would One Hookm That Up?

7.How Would I Know The Type Of Shaft & Diameter If The Manual Doesn't Say (thinking of changing rims ect)

Measure.

8.How Can I Change The Idle Without Stalling Or Reving It Untill I Press The Gas Peddal If I Set The Choke High The Tires Engage,If I Slide The Chike Lever All The Way Down The Kart Just Sits There Idling.I Want The Kart To Change Speeds Athe peddal.

I answered the ones I could.. Also, not trying to be an ***, but next time paragraphs might help..haha I almost didn't want to answer this thread because everything looks jumbled up.

Hi Anthony,
I'm fairly new here also, but Welcome.
Live axle would mean both wheels are driven on a solid axle. Some karts are only 1 wheel drive and the other wheel turns independently, usually on it's own axle.
Next size smaller gear on the axle would get you more speed, but less torque(less power for going up hills).
I can't quite see in the picture if that is the idle screw, but it looks like it is.
Did the kart not come with the band brake on the axle?

I'm pretty sure Northern Tool sells disc brakes, but it might be better to purchase from a store that specializes in go-karts and go-kart accessories.

a few of the lawn mowers that I've torn apart (admittedly they are quite old) but they have a band brake on the rear axle that activates when you hit the clutch pedal. depending on the size of your shaft a great disk break and caliper set ups can be taken from an old sled, check your junkyard (I'm saying this assuming you live in an area with winter.) that does appear to be the idle screw, im not sure what you mean by changing the speed, but the idle screw will only change how much pedal it takes to engage the clutch, and once its changed (hopefully) you don't need to change it again.

nice cart

if you want to make it a little guy cart you could use a bigger back sprocket & then govorn it with the throttle the bigger sprocket will make it wheelie off the line so dont alow so much throttle & it will take off a little slower with less of a top end

You'd need to put a sprocket or something on the end of the motor or maybe a large enough gear on the axle that would engage the starter's gear properly. You'd also have to make sure that the motor would rotate in the right direction before mounting it on. I haven't done this myself so I can't really give you specifics, unfortunately. :(

if you fail & learn some thing than you have an acheivement & I`ve got lots. The back brake see if you cant get a front brake off a motorcycle, if you have the clearance you could mount it to grab the axle sprocket. mount the disk off the front wheel to your back axle, it probablly isnt the right size to just slip on, you`ll need a mount for the disc, if your going to weld it on make sure you dont trap any thing on the axle, you`ll need a longer hydralic line to reach the brake pedal bolt the hand brake on so the brake pedal pushes it,

try cutting the cable on an angle & spin it when you slide it in, if the cable is to big cut off a few strands until it does fit, does this help?
