Alright so today I FINALLY Got to talk to the guy from a craigslist posting! he even brought down the price from 150 to 100! WOW Cant believe this myself, Gonna go Saturday/Sunday to get it! all I need is a truck =/

SO HERE'S THE two pictures he has sent me of it - for again $100! -

Back

Whole Thing

Just wow.. I couldn't believe it myself!

Here's his details on it
"go kart runs good need new clutch possibly new rims bcuz barrings are shot but goes 60mph"

I'm sure I can spend 50 bucks to fix everything on this? I mean common I was gonna pay 150, he knocked 50 so that's my repair cost!

I'm so siked! Can't get to hyped up tho! Gotta keep an open mind just in case he throws the deal off.

Good deal if the motor is in good running condition.
I had one of those karts.. Looks like a alittle manco. 1wd
Will be good for the street but suck in the dirt sense its not live axle. And i dout it can get 60 mph (stock)
Depending on where you buy the parts from and how many rims you need but you can fix most of it for under 50

As Far as I know, the motor is what I'm paying for! Haha. Yeah, Any chance one of these could be converted into an live axle? - how to is a later question ^_^ - Cause I do yeah, wanna use it on the road. but I also would like to hit up the camping spots with it when I go this summer. - 4ish months - and I really don't care if It can go 60 MPH lol, I assumed it was BS prob MAYBE 40MPH if that. But still faster than Walking ^_^ And I was gonna try to buy all my parts online, unless it was a bolt or something >_<

I'm not sure actually, Ill give him a text tomorrow, He went to bed. But I'm guessing its around a 5.5 or a 6 HP engine. Most are in my area, even tho they sell the karts that are -WORSE- than what this is in. for like $650

Well u know how a clutch has one set ratio?well a torque converter is CVT or variable transmission. meaning as u drive the ratio is always changing to give u the best ratio.can some one else explain it?i also just learned about them.

Torque converter can be good and can be bad. Because if you are off-road and the belt pops off your screwed.

I like chain drive and just modify the motor to get more power/speed or whatever you are looking for :)

Have you ever actually used one? I think not. I thrash my kart so hard I hurt afterwards. The belt does not come off. In fact, it cannot come off unless it brakes. You have to remove parts to get the belt off. And in three years of beating the snot out of it, I have only broken one belt, and that was because of a defect. Please check your facts.

If ANY belt (not just CVT) were to pop off, how exactly would you be screwed? Have you ever blown a chain on the trail? That's screwed.

I've never owned one but I get the feeling Comet 40-series are more trouble free than their 30-series. I'm sure there's more 30-series in use but it seems like we hear about a lot of issues with 30's, and everyone reports they're 40's like yours seem to be nearly bullet proof.

I was just kinda wondering if maybe a correctly-sized 30-series belt could fly off if the driver/driven had serious problems and needed to be serviced?

Lets see. u put one part of the belt round the driver, then put as much as u can around the driven, then spin the driven with ur hand and the belt just pops bck on.
