If it is, those are my fronts!
I think the last owner put too big rear wheels on my kart.
I noticed recently that the fixed axle and scrub brake shaft have been bent away from each other. Thus I think it was designed for 12 inchers front and back. But I'm not sure I wanna fix it 'cause I like the FAT rears.

You can see in both pics the axle and scrub brakes have been bent away from each other. That ain't from hittin' a tree!
I'll probably pick up some 4.10/3.50x5s at Pate Swap Meet, or really anything that's 12" across.
Then I get to bend the axle and brake shaft back to straight.
'Cause the rear right wheel has a bit of toe-out as a result.

Just get some 12" tires for your 6" rims and bend it all back.

But another problem is that the old rims are tubeless, which makes for less tire choices, and also they're a bit rusty. I'll probably pick up all new assemblies from GoPowerSports at the Pate Swap Meet. But I'll take your suggestion from the thread I made dedicated to this issue.

And either way, the old axle is just bent in too many directions. I'll just try to replace the whole axle.

Looks like putting the bearing in the sprocket instead of the wheel might work. I cut off the old bolt and welded on a longer one. I got band brakes and I was worried that I wouldn't have the clearance for them but that looks like it should work too. Now I wish I wouldn't have stripped everything off the kart in preparation for lengthening it because I am just going to leave it like it is a build a new one.

BTW my Harbor Freight grinder finally died after 10 years and I am out of metal cutting blades for my reciprocating saw so I went old school and used a hack saw.

10 years ain't bad for HFT! My dad once bought a pump of some sort from HFT and it died on the first use.
But I am considering getting the $10 Drillmaster angle grinder, that way I can do at least some chop work on my own.
Anyone have experience with the $10 grinder?

Thanks, I'm probably going to use one with a cutting wheel or my grandpa's Sawzall to cut off the *cough*, modified backrest. And the fixed axle eventually.

Anyone have experience with the $10 grinder?

I wore one out in pretty short order, same $10 Drillmaster grinder. Maybe a year and a half of just hobby use on rusty go kart frames and mini bikes (definitely not every day) and I mainly used a wire wheel and flap disc on it, I didn’t cut with it.

It still works but lacks power, vibrates horribly and also shrieks like a banshee. I abandoned it on the garage floor under a bench.

Of course there’s newer stuff at HF now and fancy schmancy in-house brand names like Hercules and Bauer but I had heard good things about the HF Chicago Electric grinder for just a little more money; it’s the 4.5” grinder in the brick red color.

So far so good.
