Could somebody take a moment (a favor) and take a couple of photo of their )older versions GY6 engine, set up in a buggy with a External reverse gear box. Looking at my situation and on either side of the box, i would like to see the appropriate positioning for the distance the chain is from the engine case(on the left) and the spindle shaft (or Nut) on the right side. thank you for taking the time... posting here is fine. I realize many of you may have newer Gy6 engines and this does not apply...

Anyone?

What’s the issue with yours? Show us yours first so one of us can eyeball the geometry and advise.

Make sure both sprockets are perfectly straight (use a straight edge), even if you need small spacing adjustments. That should fix wear and any skipping issues.

Thank you for responding... I have already placed washers to minimize any travel towards the left... I'd like to believe that if the chain is appropriately tight, it will travel very little. I just installed a new engine... all going well except to start! The CDI is buzzing and nothing beyond that, so now troubleshooting it.
