Engine problem .

So yesturday i tried starting my engine but it wouldnt start . And after the 6th pull it locked and i couldnt pull any more .. What do you thing the problem is and what can i do about it ?

Its not that cause i remove the recoil and it moves perfect .Its the flywheel thats stuck

I dont think soo . It looks normal . But when i try to spin the flywheel its locked .

time to take the head off and check cylinder and stuff. engines dont normally just lock up from trying to start. Does it have oil in it and everything? Was the governor intact while it was running? how long has it been sitting? its only a 93' should have plenty of life.

I opened it up and it had no oil. Im guessing the people i bought the bike from didnt take much care of it . I took off the head and everything looks good to me beside the cylinder doesnt move at all.

Take some PB Blaster or WD-40, and dump a bunch of it in the cylinder.

Take a large wrench, the right socket, and bust the flywheel over.

Briggs 5HP's are always like that. Plenty of stories where they seize it, unseize it, for a couple times before the rings go.

Remember the oil this time.

Why would you do this if this if there was no oil?
An engine can jam up just from trying to start it dry.
It may not be actually seized but has jammed from metal shavings.
This especially common with Kool Bore engines.
Get the hone ready.

Soak in PB blaster, turn over with wrench, fill up with oil, change after a half tank of gas.

Im new to this engine stuff . Where is the crank shaft and how do i remove it .

Crankshaft is the main shaft going through the engine. To remove it you must remove the connecting rod, which is the rod that goes straight up and is connected to the crankshaft. There will be two bolts on the bottom of it, you have to take those off.

First things first...
Has flywheel been removed?
If not, put side cover back on for supporting of crankshaft. Don't take rod bolts out yet.

the parts that fell out are your camshaft and tappets. the side cover holds the camshaft in place, and the camshaft holds the tappets in place, so them falling out isnt a sign anything is broken, just remove the side cover more carefully next time to avoid dropping stuff, which can potentially cause damage.
as long as the bearing surfaces arent dented, you should be fine. (including the cam gears teeth, and the cam lobes)

and like Affair said, if you didnt get the flywheel off, put the side cover back on to get it off.
you want something to support the PTO side (Power Take Off, where you would put a pulley, clutch, ect) of the crankshaft while you are messing with the flywheel.
