Ok, so i have grown up (i am 13) in a family where engines aren't a huge part of life. I am trying to get to 50-60mph with my go kart i am buying/building. What engines mods could i do? If you have any suggestions, please note that i am not a gearhead and can't understand all the parts and pieces that make up these engines. If you have any engine and engine mod suggestions, let me know!

It is cheaper to buy an engine which will get you to 50-60 mph than to buy one which will only do 40 and mod it, not to mention the stock engine will generally be less stressed, have longer life, less maintenance, better reliability. 50-60 mph = bike/snowmo motor.

If you have never been on a cart before, 50-60mph is ****en scary as hell.

:iagree: 50-60 is hella fast. if your a beginner. i suggest u start out with a 5hp- if im not mistaken this is around 140-150cc and it will push u around 30 to 35 which is fast enough to have fun on and also get hurt on. start small and work ur way up. after you get used to the speed, mod the engine or swap for bigger.

Yeah I agreee. 50 MPH is realy scary when your but is 2" to asphault. No different when in my outlaw car where I'm laying down almost and can only see out of a 5" tall windshield and 1" to the ground all strapped in and imposible to move and doing 85 MPH. So trust me a fun kart doing 30-35MPH is fine.
