I also have a gx240 Honda engine that has a really old TC driver stuck on it. The crankshaft is a outside threaded, tapered shaft with a keyway, I know between the 2 engines, Honda is a Honda and will last longer than the duromax, in order to use the Honda would I need to just get a new crankshaft, or would I need to have this one milled down to work? 8hp Honda, or 16hp duromax.

I'd go with the electric start 420cc.
A new throttle linkage isn't that difficult.

First thing to do is remove the gas tank and airbox/ throttle thing.
