Automatic speed change is for those that can't handle the manlyness required for manual pulley changing!
I like the belts - belts that slip may save a finger or 2 when things go drastically wrong. Oh, Tyler says it's got CVT - on a drill press! What will they think of next!
I must admit changing speeds becomes a bit tiresome tho.
For interest - I use Kibble's automatic centre punch to make a dimple. Then I use a centre drill to start a small pilot hole - drilling just a few inches into the metal, not through and then I use the normal twist drill bit to drill my hole to required size.
80% of the time 99% accurate. Round holes drilled with twist drills are rarely round though.
And I use lots of cutting fluid especially when using hole saws.
Any drill press is a good step forward, I think. I've found that Ryobi and even B&D is'nt too bad if you treat them with care.
