sarcasm lol i was pointing out the fact that you are eating vermin no Better then eating rats or mice ill stick to eating at the local super market lol were the food is not made from vermin, pests or road kill
\

And I pointed out you have no idea what you're talking about.

Dove found in the US are a migratory bird that have an enormous range from the north of the US down to Mexico. Some like the ring neck are found all the way south to Argentina.

That's not a rat. A rat eats trash and lives in its own feces.

Seriously, I was not kidding about the conditions of chicken farms.

Don't be a smart-***, and spend some time listening or researching before just spouting off.

Nope....Robert...dove gizzards are just as tough as chickens are.......

That's why I said finely dice everything. ....

I've tried grilling beef heart.....didn't really work for me.....it just seemed like I was cooking a rock......couldn't get it to take up any flavor....might as well cook it on the stove......JMHO......

I used to run around camp gathering up all the dove guts.....heart, liver, and gizzard......because most people don't mess with them........

After cleaning the gizzard and removing the white part....I would finely dice all the inards....but keep them seperated...into a tablespoon of Canola oil....I would sautee the gizzards first.....then after a minute or so.....the heart dices.....another minute...the liver dices....a quick dousing of salt and a generous amount of coarse groung black pepper. ...and then a tablespoon of flour.....and a tablespoon of butter.....stir until the flour is just about to brown .....then dump in a cup of milk.......stir well. ...reduce heat and cook to desired consistency. .....spoon on top of buttered toast......

If you don't like that .....you probably don't like ice cream......

For the faint of heart. ....you can substitute finely chopped dove breast......

It really only takes one dove breast or the guts from 3 or 4 dove for this.....

Anyone who doesn't get this....probably hasn't spent $50 to $150 to bring home 15 little birds........

I just threw up in my mouth a little bit....

Paul.....it's not as bad as I make it out......I don't go scavenging guts....but what I do is catch the hunters before they clean their dove and ask them to save those for me if they don't want them. ......

Traditionally. .....Thanksgiving dinner is turkey and giblet gravy.....which is brown gravy with bits of turkey heart, liver and gizzard.....

I'm just using a white gravy with the same parts from a different bird. .....

Now. .....here.....at most fried chicken places.....you can get fried chicken livers......and some have fried gizzards......

I have a package of sausages here that list beef and pork hearts as an ingredient. .....

So consumption of these organs from different fowl is common. .......

And as Robert alluded to. .....these birds are very clean....unlike mass produced chickens.... .who more closely resemble his description of rats...."living in their own fecees".......

I've never been up close to a chicken farm......but I have been close enough to smell one....and have read enough on the mechanics of the operation that it's a wonder I still eat chicken. .....

But. ...ignorance is bliss.......my ex shared birdfanatics delusions that supermarket food was safe and superior to wild game. ....which is totally wrong. ......besides the downsides mentioned in my previous post.. possibly the worst downside is cross-contamination. .....or food that has been subjected to the wrong temperature or is past its shelf life.....

Robert and I both know exactly when the animal was executed. ...every detail concerning it's journey from alive to table....and the timeline involved. .....

This is not to say I don't eat supermarket guts.....and many times prepared by other hands.....I'm a big menudo fan.....every now and then. ...I just gotta have some sweetbreads.....those tongue tacos.....mountain oysters.... (wish I could still get lamb fries).....oh....and liver and onions.....

I'm one of those who sometimes uses a .410 for dove. It's a real challenge - sometimes so challenging I go back to the house and get the Franchi 12. But on calmer days the little .410 works well.

Today was the first day I was able to get out. Windy but managed to take 12.

And speaking of "eating vermin" Bird, find out what goes into your beloved supermarket hot dogs. The gamebirds, waterfowl, fish and deer I harvest in the wild are chemical free, and not laced with antibiotics, growth hormones, and ecoli.

Here's an old quote for you, Bird: "It's better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt."

Then obviously. .....you have never tried them. .......

I always say......"If you can't eat them. .....then you don't have them. ...." LOL.....

EDIT: BTW: I've been told that they are hard to find because steers are commonly CHEMICALLY castrated nowadays. .....yep.....good ol' supermarket food! !!!!

@birdfanatic

Please for the love of god do some reasearch
If u think the stuff u buy from the shops is any better than the hunter animals

Its like saying thet should stop drilling for oil when u can buy it from a fuel station
Yes its actually that ignorant

Yes I know whst in talking about
Im a farmer
And I eat wildlife

Do yourself a favor
Look up agent orange
"What" I here u say "they banned that in the 70s"
Nope rebranded
The active incgreadiant DDT is still widly used
And thanks to modern GM tech (look up roundup ready canola)
We can now spray it right onto the crop

Our sheep get sprayed and injrcted with stuff so poisonous it burns human skin in seconds
(Dont worry its good for the sheep doesnt hurt them)
Then the meat is cut uo at the butchers and put in a freezer for weeks till u buy it at up to 8times what we got payed for it

Is that really healthier than shooting a healthy animal and eating it that night or the day after

Oh and to put a perspective on it
Our wool is fine merino
So it is sold to the top European clothing manufactures
Sone is used to make fireproof suits

The grain ranges in quality from animal feed to food grade
And yes alot of it ends up on your table in the US

This rant us over the top
But this ignorange is one big issue with todays world
