Wait we cant just dump oil in the yard and cover with dirt? what about left over paint? it came from the earth right, cant it just go back into it?

Kitty litter is great for oil spilled on cement. just dispose of it when done. Used to use this kitty litter looking stuff when i worked at chevron. That stuff really picks up the oil.

Like if that much oil is at the gas stations what about everywhere else cars go? leaking oil is common. Makes you think. Wonder if airplanes leak oil when flying?

No...airplanes....(more appropriately tilted...jets...) commonly dump excess fuel into nearby reservoirs before landing....WTF...they're only drinking water supplys.....

Parker County....(just west of me...) hadn't felt the earth tremble since T-Rex....but after fracking...became the epicenter of the most earthquakes in N. America in VERY short order.

First off: for me to even acknowledge Global. warming exits....means agreeing with Al GORE!!!!

Its in the trails behind the plane. They are pumping millions and millions of tons worth of chemicals that go into the air and water in the clouds!

Where I live, bottle and can's are worth .10. Tourism is a big part of industry in Michigan, we have over 11,000 lakes, and have shores on 3 of the 5 Great Lakes. There are no cans on the sides of our roads or in our forests.

Car's nowaday's.. Anything on the road, literally anything, no matter how big a POS brand you think it is, will run an EASY 200,000, and 300,000 with some care and medium repairs. Compared to my older vehicles, with ODO's that stop at 99,999 because they knew you wouldn't need to worry about it long after that. Not to mention the MPG and HP advancements of the past ten years or so, V6 pickups making 300+ HP and knocking down 25 MPG (my twenty year old big block makes 290 and get's 13 lol)

Disposable/plastic, whatever are terms that are thrown around quite a bit, but I would say that thing's made today outperform and outlast thing's from the 50's and 60's pretty handily.

The environment, in terms of air quality and water quality is better by far now than it was in my father's day as well, thanks to agencies like the EPA making sure them good ole boy's aren't dumping their drain oil down the gutter and whatnot.

I am not sayin we should build polluting factories; but their has got to be a better way than the EPA running manufacturing out of Business. Carrier to Mexico for example.

I work as an Engineer for a Tier 1 automotive supplier. It's going quite well

What isn't going so well is people who are completely unskilled demanding salaries near 6 figures a year, and up over it when benefits are included. What's not working out for people up here is saying everything "isn't my job", but running to the union steward for anything. Or possessing no actual skills, and no drive to get them, but still wanting full pensions and whatnot

I agree on the china pollution. I was in shanghai last year and i could barley breath on the freeway. The air is really bad there. China is trying to do better though. They banned motorcycles on the road. You can only have electric bikes. I think i saw maybe 2 gas engine bikes while i was there. Did see a ton of strange cars\trucks\somethings?

Cant find the pictures i took during the day from the hotel. you could really see how bad the smog was. or not see the city below.

Trust me i think smoking in america felt better then not smoking in china.

I don't really care to wade into this topic, but I will dip a toe in. Hydraulic fracturing is not harmless. I think the most obvious example would be earthquakes. The U.S. Midwest is not known for earthquake activity, but in and around areas where fracking is done there have been numerous earthquakes where there had never been any before.

Australia sits in the middle of a tectonic plate; now, unless I've been misinformed for several decades, an earthquake is the result of tectonic plates moving & rubbing against each other (to dumb it down) so, how do you explain the Newcastle earthquake?

A bit of back story: Newcastle is the site of one of the worlds largest coal deposits, covering hundreds of square miles, & has been mined for almost a century...

Put two & two together & it doesn't take a genius to figure out the cause...
