that is pretty sweet what the guy did. but waaaaay more elaborate than what i'm doing. just a simple bar that you can move, climb in, and latch back in place. :)

Oh, I think it would be more than $30,000 in parts alone to build that. He's got a busa ( I think, might be rx1), hand built bypass shocks and way too much invested in that thing.

yes at the dunes you would see 18 wheelers from honda and KTM with their Baja Rides LS turbo buggies that cost more than my house. People with disposable income well they have some cool toys but I don't really envy them. When you have money you have way to many people after it.

Man that buggy

That's brutal

No buggy can put up with those landings
It's just a matter of time for him
30 grand may buy some parts
That would have to be an LS2 or something in there
A busa doesn't have that much power

birthday craziness at my house this weekend. my oldest daughter turned 11, and we had a big mexican food party. had a couple of friends stay over, so there were 6 crazy little girls total running around. fun! lol.

managed to get out to the garage for a few tonight and shape the rest of the nose bar on the buggy. pain in my butt to do, evil angles! lol. they had to be perfect though...

found a guy that wants to trade me the fancy tires i just picked up and $50 for a nice set of tires and rims off a polaris sportsman. looks like he took realy good care of them, and there's plenty of tread left. i think i might do it, since the rims are worth way more than the $100 total i'll have invested.

lol... I just noticed the zip ties on the mini bike I hadn't really looked at it til searching to see the jack shaft.. Hey Mysteryboy! How much length do you cut the CV joints. And what type do you try to get Honda, acra,vw, etc... Question: if they were not cut would the wheelbase be outta bounds wide or what? Just questions... Hope your feeling better btw.

The buggies with IRS have automobile CVs on them. Problem is they are too bulky, and the shafts are too short. So the angle becomes too steep on them during up and down travel, which causes too much negative plunge. Then the CVs pop out. I won't being doing IRS anymore unless people are willing to pay for the right parts and labor. Swingarm rear suspension works great for what it does, and is much cheaper and easier to do.

I read in a post you were cutting them down trying not to bur the grease boot and running through the yard to cool them in water. so i was talking that project i guess. you mentioned building UTVS what is their rear suspension going to be? Just Was asking.. Digging the old corvair style really ...

Yeah, if I didn't cut them down the wheels would have to stick out quite a bit farther. I had a lot of people asking if I could keep the wheel base as narrow as possible for trail riding. Which is kind of funny, cuz buggies like this aren't meant to ride on narrow 4-wheeler trails. Greaser has the right idea riding on little old dirt roads and such. Out in the desert would be great too! :)
