thanks greaser! ;)

meanwhile, taking a night off. legs are sore from hours of squatting and welding. arms are sore from cranking the tube bender.

got a line on a 97 Polaris Indy 500 Classic, with reverse, electric start, and liquid cooled. guy is going to test the compression and let me know tomorrow. said he'd be willing to meet me half-way, which he's a good 2+ hours drive from me.

got lots of parts in the mail yesterday and today. yay! tomorrow i hit the salvage yards for shocks, seats, CV axles, and a rear-view mirror! hopefully i find some hidden treasures! :)

Compression is good! 123 psi and 125 psi! Meeting the guy tonight after we both pick up our kids from their mom's. Lol.

Looking at Indy 500 pics and parts, looks like they have some decent front shocks I might be able to use. I'll see what I find at the salvage yard today (might hit the jackpot). I can always re-sell what I don't use. :)

So many parts have come in the mail - my porch looks like a stock/supply room. Lol.

the polaris sled was a bust. no power, wouldn't budge. guy kept messing with the spark plugs, took off for a half hour and got new plugs. no difference. i checked the compression - only 100 PSI! wtf? he had claimed 123 and 125 psi earlier. i thought it a little odd that he fired up the sled on his truck, demonstrated that it had reverse, then wanted me to pull my van right up to his truck to load the sled up. no offer to test it out. hmmm... i was a smart camper though, and insisted on taking it for a spin. got about 5 feet, and that was the farthest it would go. oh well, 3 hours of my life and $20 in gas i'll never get back. lol. better than $500 for a POS! :)

meanwhile, back to building the buggy. i also have another project for a customer that has me rebuilding his front suspension and and steering. keeping busy!

Well that sucks you would think people would know better if you know enough to ask about compression you know enough to take it for a spin.
greaser, i've got a nice 12 volt Power Wheels motor ready for your buggy! :wai:

my wife would love that she thinks i like speed to much :rolleyes3:

i keep telling her that there is no such thing.:cheers2:

independent rear suspension. trailing arms or double a-arms. haven't decided yet. lol. leaning torwards trailing arms though. just gotta get CV axles with plenty of plunge to them, because trailing arms will change the length of the drive shaft as the wheels go up and down.
