Dingo rebuild

Got to the cage today. Rode at night the other day and realised I needed a light. The cage got mangled by the P.O. and also "repaired" with some round stock and some stick welds.

I was also wondering if anyone has any pics on hand of the cage from above and maybe from the side?

Here are a couple I had in my phone, I can take one from the side if you'd like, I'm missing the plate that goes between the seat bar and engine bar, but they lined right up and bolted together.

That's what I needed, thanks. The whole thing is bent, I needed a reference to bend mine back some. It's oretty close to where it'll sit, just need to bend the plates that vonnect the pieces and weld up my bars.

The p.o. on mine chopped it, slid a piece of pipe over the gap, and tried to secure it with hose clamps, the front bars were missing 6" or so where you see the bright yellow sections. I am actually surprised how stable these frames are, actually feel kinda safe with the limited cage.

Mine had 3/8 round stock as a "splint" to hold them together. They broke both sides one of the times they flipped the thing.

You should check out the dingo thread I just started, the farter I get on that one, the more I think about adding a full cage on the one I showed pictures of here, theft of the idea is definitely encouraged!

I like how the curent one is set up. Had a friend over and he brought his quad and I rode the dingo and tore up the yard, brake went out so I hopped on the 445 and ripped around on that.

I’m thinking that mine in going to get a better cage setup. It’s going to be more “inspired by” the original than a full cage, but it should be much safer.

I'm going to do something closer to your idea with the other one that has the original style bar, probably just two bars from the top, one bend and down to the front bumper area. Not as big and enclosed, but still have something overhead and a seat belt.

That’s basically what I have in mind. Kind of like the cage on a fuel dragster to have an enclosed place to sit, but not have to worm in through the side.
