Yeah, I was thinking about getting one of those, but I have the feeling it might slip a little too much in hard acceleration. I like hard acceleration.

Haven't used the Northern diff, but I did put a diff on my kart. Gives you insane control. Not good if you want to do donuts or peel out a lot though.

How is that limited slip if the 2 sprockets off the wheels is locked onto a solid jackshaft? The only thing slipping there is the wheels on the pavement.

the jackshaft is not solid, it rotates?

note the brakes on the jackshaft. so it is rotating..

I know its a rotating jackshaft. Theres NOTHING to slip there though. No free wheels or clutches so thats aint gona slip.

when the inner wheel slows in the corner its clutch disengages & the outer that is spinning faster doesnt!..... the brakes could also be sprotors=(sprocket rotors) "safer" for cheap band brakes use an oil filter wrench!:smartass: revised diagram

A while ago I was planning a street legal kart, for fun, and if I ever actually made one I thought I would probably use a differential.

i have a diff, not northen but a diff at that on this lawn mower thing(yeas pics comming), and it seems to work fine, all be it it will not break tires loose even if on ice, but its nice, it helps you get speed through corrners because one wheel isnt chattering.
