WOW! That Ebay motor is kind of neat. 18 cubic inches? Should be a stump puller. I can see some sort of Mad-Max / Nacho Libre type of kart roaming the earth, powered by one of these in the post-apocalyptic future. Haha!

I can't wait for that day! No rules, make your own machine (MYOM) out of parts you find scattered around in the ruins of what once used to be civilization. Get the guys address who's selling those diesels. Maybe we'll have some sort of relic of GPS technology which we could use to locate the position of where he would be and then we'll form a group of rebels who go on a quest to find the diesels of doom and we'll use them in our machines (along with any Lawn-Boys we find of course) and when we find him he'll be a bad looking mofo with spikes on his leather jacket and we'll have to trade our clones for his diesels and and and.....(yes this was meant to all be a big run on sentence):arf:

But seriously, you could make a really geared down kart (like 8:1 (and have a torque converter at that)) do some seroius off-roading and rock climbing

Well, a clone puts out just under 10 ft lbs torque, and this diesel should be good for 18 ft lbs! You could climb trees!

Lordy, I agree! I was kinda hoping the insane gas prices would loosen things up, law-wise. What was I thinking?!? When they've figured they can regulate (and therefore TAX) a form of transportation, they're NOT going to loosen their grip. Sad to say, but like the Joker once said, "This place needs an enema!"
Sorry- back to diesels.... besides the prohibitive cost, this motor looks like a lot of fun for one of those 2 seater karts with ATC tires.

I'd really like to play with one of those diesels, just to see what they can do. I'd throw it on my kart and see if I can make the wheels slip even with the diff. I think that's my ultimate goal, to peel out.

Yeah, think about it: DIY Rebels and the Diesels of Doom

Or, or get this!: DIY Wars; the Clone Wars XD XD XD :D :arf:

It's all about the mighty dollar, sadly...
