I've seen the stock connecting rod exit the side of the block but it never got much altitude. I've seen that a lot and that's catastrophic damage so, you know...

Billet con rod is a must (or a priority purchase) I think, over the billet/aftermarket flywheel, as a simple oiling problem and some galling wrecks the rod pretty quick. It overheats and seizes on the crankshaft journal then poof.

The crank and con-rod become one when it seizes, so one of them has to yield. Guess which one? The con-rod is welded to the crank journal and then it snaps into several pieces, usually first near the wrist pin where it is the thinnest. Would love a slow motion replay but the pieces become an interference between the block and the crank and they get pushed out through the side.

I think someone said that their rod snapped at the top, disconnected from the piston and then from the shock of that happening, the rod freed itself to turn another 1/4 on the journal and the then mostly intact rod went horizontal like a battering ram on the block. These parts are still aluminum on aluminum so it's still quite impressive.

It's shocking how thin the block is in some places, probably 3/16" to 1/8". :thumbsup: :surrender:

Kids, cover your ears... but I heard genuine Honda GX flywheels are considered safer than the stock off-brand stuff, and even maybe tested safe within the 5-6000rpm range (look it up). Just thinking maybe a GX140 or 160 flywheel could run even safer on a GX200, sort of like a Briggs & Stratton 3hp flywheel is said to boost performance on a Briggs 5hp motor. I'm telling ya there ought to be a chart showing which genuine vs. non-honda clone parts are interchangeable. How can ARC be the only game in town?
A compatibility chart would actually be really useful. There are so many GX and clone parts out there that it's hard to know what's a direct swap and what's just forum hearsay.
