First cart failed miserably, it moved at like 5mph and broke the 1/2" axle. Thats what I get for using a mower transmission.

Anyway, I didn't spend $80 on tires to just give up.
I've already got some of the cart built, just too lazy to take pictures right now.

The top right is a crude drawing of how i sit in the cart.

Its meant to sit low and long and have very little of a front and rear end. I might build some kind of front bumper just to protect my feet from a collision.

The 2 parts of the frame by my head are for a future cage

The frame itself weighs about 30lbs, add tires of about another 30, plus maybe another 20 for the engine, you got a cart thats under 100lbs. Add a 230lb rider and a 6.5-8hp engine. Thats like 50lbs per HP.

Now the rear tires are 16"s and 12" fronts. Idk what kind of gearing I will need to make this accelerate fast but not to a break neck speed. Im going to say, lets make it a safe 25mph. I wouldn't want to be doing 40 in this thing with my *** literally 2" off the ground.

Good thing about this design is I can move the wheels to the outside of the frame if I ever want to by changing out the axle.

REALLY Cool! Sorta like one of those Luge Things but with wheels and a place for a decent motor! With that low of a Kart, you'll have a very low frontal area..... High Speed project!
Do you have access to tubing bender to create something like that? At the very least, it's a fine piece of sculpture!

Great Design, and looks like it is going to be a blast, Can't wait to see some test video.

Just my 2Cents, would this help with the structure of the frame and promote les flex? Maybe even have the rear swing arm with 1 or 2 Mountain bike Shocks ontop behind the head rest.

I could have it pivot but I don't want to get that involved. Most of my energy is finding an engine within my budget.

briggs 5hp would be your best bet for a cheap engine
jst look around on craigslist
after that if your willing to spend a lil more for a brand new engine with mroe power then get a clone 6.5hp from harborfrieght

oh by the way i realy like your cart

if your after your safe 25 mph limit, i would go with a stock 5hp briggs or tecumseh. if i were you, i would put a cage on it and then fit sheet metal on the sides and top and a lexan windshield! i would push this baby to high speeds!

Just an idea of what it could look like. Pictures from AGK.

Okay, but its got 2 ATV tires, and a cent. clutch. My chopper barely moves with 1 atv tire and that things light.

Neat, but with the AGK version, I'm not too sure what advantages they've accomplished. At least with t0x1k's version, it's a Salt-Flats Speedster low-profile thing, that would hual _ss with minimal power.
t0x1k.... are you able to bend the tubes like in your design?

Yeah, i thought about that, but it don't look like it has a mikuni or anything, and it has a muffler on the end restricting back the flow anyway.
