Take the spark plug out and put a mixture of brake fluid, transmission fluid and diesel fluid in the spark plug hole. Let it sit for 2-3 days. After that, take off the recoil and put a socket & breaker bar on the flywheel nut. Gently rock back and forth on the breaker bar. This method has worked for me several times.

Is there any requirements on how much i need of each product?
im leaving tomorrow so i might be able to do some stuff up there :D
SUPER KEEN!!! :wai::wai:

I just did even amounts. That's the way it was told to me. After I took the spark plug out, I could see where the piston was. I made enough to fill the cyl.

Well guys i got some good and bad news the bad news is that i never went around to my friends farm to get a engine and fix it up as they were on a holiday for the weekend, but the good news is that i got some front go kart rims that are 6" in diameter, now i just need to get some bearings and tires for em.

If your kart came with front rims, you could probably just re-use their bearings in your 6" rims.

Most race karts like yours have 10" tall tyres in the front, and 11" tall in the back. For a little extra ground clearance you could buy some 11" tall treaded fronts, and 12" tall treaded rear-dirt racing tyres in OZ here at this link: http://www.blastkarting.com.au/inde...mart&page=shop.browse&category_id=7&Itemid=11

Or for a much lower cost, you could use either of these tires on 4" to 8" wide rims:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Go-Kart-...Go_Kart_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ab4eac34f
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tyre-Rid...35678209?pt=AU_Lawnmowers&hash=item3370cae901

How many teeth does your clutch and rear sprocket have?

Thanks for the links and thats were we got the rims from might have to go past and get some tires from there :D

At the moment we don't have a clutch and sprocket, my friend told me to stay away from the centrifugal clutch because they ware out to quick and he reckons i should get a gear reduction motor because they have a we clutch or something which makes them last longer?

Over here in the states hardly anyone uses those gear reduction/wet clutch engines on racekarts. If you've already got a regular engine you might as well buy a clutch an use it.

I noticed your kart shop sells Noram clutches: http://www.blastkarting.com.au/inde...y_id=9&page=shop.browse&limit=20&limitstart=0
Those are exspencive but very high quality. I race on dirt oval tracks and use a Noram clutch on a kart like yours. My clutch has lasted 3 years and its still going strong.

But before you buy any clutch and sprocket we need some info to figure out how to gear your kart.

We need to know:

How big your track is?
Do you know how fast the other karts you'll be racing against go on tracks the size of yours?
Do the the other guys have 6.5hp Honda/clone engines?
Did they removed their governors or add any racing parts to their engines?

Im mainly going to be using the gokart for fun, we do have a friend who has a go kart and it is 5.5hp with a gear reduction box with no mods to the motor what so ever. By my guessing the track is around 70 to 100 or maybe more, i haven't built the track but i have kinda got a plan on how its going to work, there are some spots on the track where the dirt is pretty soft.
My friend uses a Honda 5.5hp gear reduction motor.

The go kart wont be used for any serious racing but just for fun but that could change later on, and where would i be able to get a engine mount for a 6.5hp honda clone engine??

Thanks

Cooper :D

If you have some scrap metal, you can fabricate an engine mount yourself. Its actually very simple. Basically just a flat piece of rectangular metal with slots cut into it.

Man, racekart parts are exspencive in OZ... I checked around and this engine mount seemed to be the best deal I could find:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GO-KART-...Go_Kart_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4841f89c6f

Its got free shipping and they'll drill the 4 holes to match your engine at no charge.

The only thing I'm not sure of, is if it will fit 30mm. and 32mm. frame rail diameters. So before ordering, I'd suggest you measure the diameter of your frame rails and contact the seller to ask.

Also measure the distance between your 2 frame rails, and ask the seller if this mount fits your karts frame rail spacing.

__________

You've got a few choices for your clutch, Do you want a high quality clutch or a lower cost one?

Does the output shaft of your engine measure 19mm. in diameter, and have a keyway (slot) machined down its length, and a threaded hole at the end, and look like the left end of this pic?

Does your axle already have a hub to mount a sprocket?
It would look like this pic below, and the 6-bolt circle pattern would measure 5.25" or around 229mm.

For the rails, should i be measuring the inner gap or from the out side of the tube to the other outside of the tube

When we bought the go kart it had a 40mm rear axle with the bearings and a axle hub and the wheel mounts

We havent got a motor but the motors at the farm have a water pump attachment on them so im not sure how hard it is going to be to take it off but i think we are just going to buy a new one.

after the go kart project we are going to build a vw buggy :D

Has anyone made one and has pics just so i can get a better understanding.

I wish they were cheaper but i guess not but that motor mount is pretty pricey, but i saw some from america for around $40 and $40 shipping to aus.

Heres something i wouldnt mind doing i guess but might stick to the normal plan and not bother with that.

They mesure from the center-to center points of the 2 rails.

Yeah i found some motormounts here in the states priced as low as $30. But i need to know your frame diameter and rail spacing to tell if they'd fit...
