Here ya go JT, in your ball park...

Was out to a job the other morning... and coming along the road I saw off a ways a mower on the curb. As I got closer..
It was old, it was free....Must have just been out there not too long from the previous night...

So I immediately braked and parked....
Hopped out to take a look... and sure enough it had a Briggs 2hp and it wasn't in bad shape at all...
I think the motor is an newer replacement, but either way.. still cool...
Some of the older stuff was moved over to the newer motor by the looks of things....

Of hand It has compression... but no idea if it can run yet...tank was relatively good... but im going to get into that a bit later...

Weird thing but cool about these old reel mowers... They have the motor separate from the main body of the machine...
Could mount any motor on there if it matches the rotation direction...

Heck I could mount that big '52 6hp #14 I have... It it would be a hot-rodded mower then......

We had a mower like that when I was a baby in 1966. In 1967 I cut off my right thumb. First kid in Indiana to get a thumb reattached. In 1968 after dad gave that mower to grandma she lost her rt middle finger to the first nuckel. It got the tips of a few more fingers before it finally got out of the family. 🥴
