Well it should idle like a jet taking off. but I'm hoping I don't have to fly it around the room.

Also added final glass trim piece onto the rear of desk (just a small piece across the middle for the glass to rest on) since i was working on that side. Left room for my hand to remove glass if i need to get inside it later. Might add foam or something to fill in that air gap.

Video card mount still needs some brackets to hold it just right. figuring that out. not a lot of mounting locations on it.

A little progress this week.

Finished the video card mount bracket

Designed and 3D Printed some power supply brackets

only the rear side has holes for screwing it down. May drill some holes in the other side, depending on if there is anything behind the PSU case there.
20220608_131349.jpg

And per some requests and concerns about power supply location im moving it to the far right side and extending the video power cables by 16"

1 down 2 to go.

Pulling out the pins to cut the extra connector was a pain. i dont have an extractor tool so i smashed some metal pins flat and struggled for an hour to remove the extra connector on the other 2 cables. now i just need to solder another 16 wires and I'm good ;)

Working on a io panel for the rear of the case. Will run cables from this to the motherboard.

Was going to cut into rear of desk for this. but after thinking about it i will move it outside under the monitor bracket and run cables through a small hole. Should keep the inside cleaner looking.

Took several prints to get the hole sizes right.

Finally they all fit nicely

Final Print

Now to figure out how to mount to rear monitor bracket area. Quick CAD layout to get a feel for what it may look like.

PSU needs power. So i added this power connector i had laying around to the back.
20220621_154056.jpg

Had to add the block of wood to make it flush inside
20220621_154106.jpg

Then glued and screwed into place
20220621_154627.jpg

Think im ready for some paint? maybe? I have more ideas of things to add but i need to finish this. so paint now i can modify later.

First, of many, black primer coat is down on the inside. I'ts flat black, so we shall see what it looks like once dry. doing inside first in case i hate it. Maybe should of done the bottom first?
