Coffin Tank

I'm working on my first coffin tank . I started with the size and degree of the backbone 12"long @ 17deg . I made a tinplate of what it'll look like. Then measured all the triangle connecting points. I done use the 3D in autoCad enough so the tape measure was quickest for me. I did put the sizes into a dfx file and burned all the parts out. Once together I'll measure for the bottom of the tank.

I guess it's still in mock-up stage and tack welded together, but do tell how you intend to blend and seal the edges.

With a weld bead and then ground down flush, or?

Looks fine to me. What could you dislike about it?

Fully welded , ground and buff ground. I have to make 2 new pieces and make the bottom. Then bung & valve

Needs a cap and a bottom on it first. I've been welding 35 years , I'd bet there is no leaks. But I'll check it any way as always.

So Im curious... with a project such as this, pin holes can be a pain... how would some kind of solder go to eliminating leaks? Or brazing depending how thick the material is...

First, you need to know how to Weld. Anyone can pull a mig trigger , but few know (how) to weld . It's all about how thick the metal is, the gage of wire , (hard wire with the correct gas for what your working on, and the correct temperature settings and wire speed.
I'm sertifid in stick, mig & tig ,, tig aluminum,, tig stainless,,

If it does have a leak I'll braze over it. And seal the inside of the tank.
