Anyone else know of Comet clutches going out of buisness????
looking like most golf carts i work with run comet clutches and i cant seem to find the clutches i need to replace on some of the customers cars

that was a big clutch company that affects go cart builders to but for me hopefully some one in the golf cart world picks up the slack

They got bought up, hopefully production will start soon. Worst case the Chinese will gladly make copies, pretty hard to mess up making a TAV if you are set up to stamp sheet metal.

GTC claims they are designing them from scratch in their state of the art factory which seems very questionable, I believe they are producing a backplate and importing the drive/driven clutch from China.

I ***umed that GTC was the one that bought up the tooling. CPC missed the boat, then. If GTC really has a quality replacement, that's going to hurt the case for remanufacturing the genuine Comet parts.

Yup...everything is Bush's fault.

Just remember, half the stuff Bush signed was wrote by a democrat controlled congress. Not to say he was good president or anything, but it pisses me off when people use him as a scapegoat.

Not to get too political or anything but, I like how everyone is pissed at Obama for spending all that $$ on the bailout. Look at how much $$$ has been spent on the war in Iraq & Afghanistan. According to costofwar.com(which appears legit), about $1.02 trillion has been spent on the wars since 2001. At least the bailout doesnt cost lives.

While i dont consider my self a democrat, i do agree with alot of their views. That being said, i think [human caused] global warming is total BS. Im just saying, stop pounding Obama for trying to help. Im not justifying spending *** loads of money, but dont be hypocrites. *** loads of money were spent by the last president on a completely unnecessary war. DsmEclipse sound like a nice guy.
