I changed my Go-Kart belt like a month ago and it was working somewhat great. But now when I am running the kart sometimes it lacks power, belt jumps, belt slips. I noticed the Belt I installed is Asymetric, I do not know if it is the correct belt. What I know is that the belt I had before was flat and this one have some tooth on it.

Any advice?

And what type of belt should I get, which one is best?

That is the correct type of belt for your unit (asymmetric). Read the sticky on torque converter maintenance, sounds like yours is getting gummy and due for service.

I Usually clean the Clutch with Carburetor cleaner until all the dirt comes out and it is shiny clean.

Do you think the belt may be stretched? Same happened when I changed the Belt before. I am thinking about getting the original COMET BELT.

I do not know if the belt is to big because it feels like it, belts are not tight on this system?

Hard to gauge by "feel". Belt is never supposed to appear tight with engine off or at idle.

Ok, yes I understand. I read the sticky thread about maintaining torque converter before posting... but I still think something else is wrong.

I clean the clutch with carb cleaner but never lubricate.

I believe there is a recommended lubricant.

6. Lubrication - This is a dry assembly, no wet lubrication PERIOD. The only part that would need lubrication would be the inner side of the outer cover on the main assembly where the aluminum piece rides on it using centrifugal force. The lubrication in question suggested by Comet is their own brand of dry lube, which is a dry moly blend, I'm sure there are other fine companies out there that offer this, but it doesnt need lubrication often, its not that big of a deal, the main thing you need to focus on is cleaning the clutch. Any wet lubrication you do put in this will create a terrible snowball effect which will collect more dirt, dust, belt fiber, debris, etc. Bad idea to use wet lube.

Could I use White Grease?

I would double check the outer circumference of your belt and match it to this table:
http://www.gokartsupply.com/tcbelts.htm

Measure the distance between the center of the motor shaft and the Jackshaft, then the diameter of your driven unit
it should match your belt.....

At the bottom of the page there is a little info about erratic engagement, try reading it.

Also, try spraying Teflon/ptfe dry lube in the driven (not drive which needs dry moly or dry graphite) unit where the green spring goes. Work the moveable sheave in and out as it dries.

Thanks, I have never lubricate any of them, just clean them.

It wont hurt to lube the drive unit with teflon dry lube, but it needs dry moly or dry graphite.

The driven unit needs it right inside where the moveable sheave goes in and out and rubs metal to metal.
Thanks, I hope this fix the problem.

I found my torque system diagram.

The fix was temporary, now I tried cleaning it and it keeps jumping... not able to go up a hill... I do not know If I should change the torque converter completely... or the driver do not know...
