I dont think they are just going to blow apart, but i do not support buying these chinese engines. I hate buying anything from china, but unfortunately so many products these days are made in china, its sad.

Don't buy one, they all blow apart and last no time at all!

Even I have to admit $89 is attractive, but I think it would have to get to $49 before I would consider buying one.

Unless you remove the governor and mod them to go past valve float, its pretty hard to beat on these things. I mean holding it at governed 3600 rpms all day wont hurt the engine at all, generators, tillers, lawnmowers, snowblowers all do.

I keep wanting to try one out but I'm torn. It's not so much the China thing as I like flatty's with steel cam lobes. Asian overhead slants wouldn't be period correct for my junk.

Well, the good thing is Obama is helping us cope with the Chinese problem with the classic phrase. "If you can't be them, join them"

got em, thanks mate :cheers2:

I'm trying to create vertical space. Is it possible to move the gas tank to another location and get a less obtrusive air filter? If so I'd be very grateful for this dimension:

The fuel tanks on these engines unbolt and could simply be remounted to most any point above the carburetor, and then instal a longer fuel line so the gas would still gravity feed to the carb.

Or with the addition of a pulse-type fuel pump, you could re-mount the fuel tank most anywere you wanted below the carbs level.
Lots more Pulse fuel pump info can be found here: http://www.affordablegokarts.com/fuel-pump-setup.php

Here's a link to a race style air filter and carb adaptor for 6.5hp Hondas and clones: http://www.affordablegokarts.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=A&Category_Code=GGPP5
