^^ Being a Mr. Mom affords me a lot of time at home...but not always time for this project. I try to get a lot done when I do have time in the garage. :)

Switched out the brake hub tonight, from the thin hub on right to what used to be the sprocket hub. I heard that there's issues with the thin one unless it's a yard kart. It'll go on eBay soon unless one of y'all want it cheap. (PM me if so). It's not a bad unit, just lighter gauge than I want for a dual setup or hardcore racing. I'll get a new sprocket hub for the engine assembly....

Stripping has started on the frame too....

Got the rear end of the frame done, added the appropriate holes to replicate a Rupp, and almost ready for paint. Have to add the seatpan tabs first...

Also have the 4" front tires ordered, and waiting on a couple other odds and ends. Once I have the steering assembly in, I can get the appropriate tie-rods and then I'll have to do the seat upholstery. Getting there...

I helped a friend rebuild a Clark kart a few months ago. It had been used by his kids & needed a lot of welding repairs. The metal piece that the bearing flanges attach to had a crack that went up from the semi-circular cut out. That fatigue crack went over to the motor mounting plate, as well.
We also found cracks where the rear chassis tube loops over & connects to the front chassis tube at the seat side pods.
His axle's keyways and threaded ends was toast so we bought a new axle and bearings.

Got a little more work done yesterday -- floor pan cut and test fit, and frame primered.... It's been a while, but should have it done by end of next week. :)

I also purchased a 70's RobRon (Successor to DART) vintage kart that has a 4 cycle on it. Don't need the 4 cycle...or really the frame. Make offers if you'd like.... ~ted
