Chancer, What about the wheels? That link is the tire, do they sell the wheels for them too? Trying to search WM site but cant see the wheels. Thinking i pick up two for my rear tires. Maybe ill go by WM tonight and check it out.

Edit: Looking at WM site someone could build a go cart from wm parts! They have engines, axles, wheels, pillow bearings, etc...

or buy one from wm! :roflol: :smiley_omg: :surrender:

I am SO disappointed!!!!! I thought I was gonna see a tire explode posted by FR15!

We're never going to see that fella again on account of your hateful antics. He needs encouragement from this forum, not the derision he gets in spades. :p

How can we experience schadenfreude on a regular basis without the likes of FR15?

3/4" Bore :( Well i guess 3/4 live axle with these maybe okay? I was going for a 1" live axle with some acceptably priced rear tires. No keyway. 1/4" Crosspin...? Crospin seems much less safer then keyway setup. why not. i like to be dangerous.

Hellion, buy them and let me know how they work out. i just got hit with more bills then usual and need to not spend any more money on anymore bad wheels. one set of HF are enough right now.

Yep. That is my problem with those wheels Hellion. The 1/4" cross pin is for low speed like a snow thrower or Roto tiller. but probably not the weight and torque and speed of a kart.
I like surplus center for many things. I even bought 2 sets of wheels for my mini buggy Karts there. But It is hard to find Keyed wheels from them. But it is surplus so always worth a look.

Well I bought the aforementioned tires last Sunday and finally got them mounted up today.
Here are the before and after pics. I had 15x6x6 and now the 13x5x6.

Changed the gear ratio a little but it is cool because this is a governed motor so with the lower top speed She can hold it wide open all the way around the circle track drifting the turns.

Can that discounted wheel pair I posted the link to be modified by a good machinist? That is, having a keyway machined into the hub. Is that feasible and a not too costly proposition?

Figure if Profit (or anyone for that matter) bought them he could have the ends of his axle turned down to 3/4". There's always a way... ;)

Surplus center has 16x6.5x8 on a 3/4 bore keyed.
a little tall but can be geared correctly to work. 3/4 bore keyed is difficult to find.

Here is what I used on my Razor buggy... But they are no longer in stock:

Those look like another way of describing the all-too-common 4.10/3.50-5 Cheng Shin, Kenda, Carlisle 'kart' tires (but they're probably general purpose). I measured mine and they are about 11" tall.

They last way longer than comparable 2-ply knobby tyres.

In fact, the sidewalls on those say Cheng Shin. Those are a good deal (with the free S&H)!

"If a "/" separates the 1st 2 sets of numbers the 1st number is the overall width of the tire. The 2nd number identifies the section height. This is the measurement from the crown to the bead of the tire. The last number is the rim diameter. The overall diameter of the tire is D + D + C. So for a 4.10/3.50-4 tire the overall diameter is 11" (3.5 + 3.5 + 4)." ~From MFGSupply.com

Still haven't shown up. Stupid Walmart. 4.10-3.5-4 sawtooth. For heavy duty 4 inch rims with new go kart bearings. Just found out I need to make new spindles though which sucks. Harbor freight hand truck tires are flat on one side and offset on the other so the bolts I welded on don't go through the new rims.

Ha just checked my email and they cancled my order and said they don't know if they will get them in so I guess others bought em up at that good price. Poop.

I hear you. I have a gripe with the way Welfare-Mart shipped my tires. They flattened them as much as they could then applied several layers of shrink/cling wrap. :censored:

The tire's centers are caved in (like an accordion) which presents a real problem when you go to mount them as the bead of the tire is quite a ways away from the rim of the wheel so setting the bead is nearly impossible. I got one done with a bicycle pump and furiously pumping it with some manipulation of the rubber... but the other...

I hear you! I got mine in the store so not quite so crushed. I got three out of four with a minor fight. Using tie down straps and removing the schraeder core and an air compressor. The forth...I threw across the shop! It would not even attempt to seat. I even tried the FIRE method. It just caught on fire and made 0 attempt to do anything! I tried to stretch it back open by putting wood blocks in it and leaving it in the sun for a week. Still fought me.

the sun and stretch helped a little, but there was still too much gap to pressurize and hold any air let alone set the bead.
I ended up using Spray Foam in a can! LOL! I dunno if it expanded the side wall or just filled the leaky gap but it worked. I just do not look forward to the day I have to replace it!

I was debating whether to send the one or both tires back for an exchange with non-deformed tires.

I may try my Horror Fright heat gun on the lame tire to soften the rubber, push it out and let cool. Wash, rinse and repeat and maybe I can form it back into shape...

For a whole different type of tire at 15 bucks each. Check this:

We ought to go in for those with a DIYGK group buy and then part out sets of 2 or 4.
