Also, if my CVT does not slide all the way onto the shaft like I mentioned, do I need the special fancy shmansy washer to make it all work? The sleeve that the drive slides on is still on the shaft, but not all the way.

The part I forgot to mention is that the jackshaft is the 3/4. The crank I had the right 3/4 drive for. They are a major pain to find on a budget. I’m almost tempted to move the driven sprocket and just use a mount plate with sprocket kit and circumnavigate the jackshaft.

That is the best thing you could do. Use the plate system and eliminate the jack shaft that's on there now.

Would that create an issue if the cvt’s sleeve is already hanging off my shaft? Would I need the fancy washer? I am tempted to just go to GPS and measure 37 times to be safe.
Mine hangs off also. There is a special washer that slides into the part of the CVT (and bolt goes thru it all) that hangs off then clamps it all down.

lol hate when I gotta keep asking the same thing.

So like for sake of cheapskateness do I need it? The cover sits in the sleeve all the way but the sleeve doesn’t sit all the way on the shaft. Could I diy the special bit? Are they expensive? Theoretically I shouldn’t need it but that depends on tolerances. Would a normal steel washer on the end work?

I hope this shows why the torque converter has to be assembled with the parts provided and not your own hardware. (Other then a custom crank bolt)

The sleeve is stepped only on one end for the pulley to set onto. The pulley sets onto the sleeves step and the thick stepped washer clamps it all together.

A standard washer might work but you already have a short crank engine and your wanting to take even more support out of the torque converter by not using the stepped washer.

If it didnt come with that washer, contact the seller. It is supposed to.

Well when the box says “quality tools, half price” from Amazon, is it really a golden standard? I’m just gonna bite the bullet and go to Go Power. Almost nobody sells a 3/4” bore driven. They do have a return policy though.

I plan to at this point. Hopefully one from a legit shop just like comes with it. For a $100 kit I sure as hell hope so. It does supposedly also have a legit comet belt in the kit.

I figured out how to do multiple replies in one! :thumbsup: Also, I really forgot why I started this edit in the first place. I totally had a reason, I just don’t remember.

I’ll send a pic, but that seems way more expensive than the kit. I can get a refund on the Amazon CVT.

Nah man I wish. My Amazon one was just the pulleys and a belt.
