I was thinking of attaching my chainsaw to my mountain bike via friction drive. I don't have clutch housing.. just the internal piece. Will it fly apart if I rev it up without any housing around it or will it just expand?

I wanted to mount it 1cm above my wheel so when I rev it the clutch expands and frictions the wheel.

Don't even THINK about trying the clutch without the bell! Stuff will likely fly apart at high velocities, inflicting major damage into surrounding objects! :surrender:

That's why I asked :)

Anyway I found some pulleys down at the autoparts store.. VERY small bore. I think I'm going to see if cutting a small keyway in the chainsaw crankshaft is possible or attaching it some other way. The I'll attach a pulley to the wheel somehow.

A 100cc should rip on a bicycle

I don't have a kart to put it on currently, or the equipment to make it work on one.
