on my 1 wheel drive kart it keeps throwing the chain. either immediately or within 30 seconds high or low rpm's. The motor is bolted on tight, its lined up correctly, and sprocket on wheel looks straight. Chain is pretty tight as well. could the chain be bad i received the whole kart with out the motor and threw mine on it, so the chain is old

maybe the master link is hitting the sprocket. try taking off the chain and flipping it around the other way, after lubing it

ok i'll give it a shot in the morning. i noticed it has 2 master links on it so the chain must have snapped and links broke at 1 point. so maybe chain is twisted or warped?

I have more than 1 master link. I put a different sprocket on and needed a longer chain. I added a length of chain with a master link. I can take off the link and go back to my other sprocket. How sure are you that the sprockets are in fact in line?

Have you put the kart on it's side(assuming that it won't spill fluids if you do) and put a level between the sprockets? If the chain is too tight it can come off as well. How worn out is the sprocket? That could do it too. Are all the links in the chain loose? If there is one stuck/frozen link it can buck it off from that too. Might be worth just buying a new chain.

my manco would throw the chain but that was when nearly drifting it on asphalt. too much flex on one or more parts. chain should be taunt but give a bit. how are your bearings? you may need to tighten them or replace them.

Master links are the weakest link.
I built my cart, and not even 5 minutes of riding the master link exploded. Just press out the pins and put them back in. Safest thing.

Go to lowes, they're marking down the #41 chain for like $3 a roll.

Sorry i took so long, So i went ahead and checked and the alignment was off so i corrected that, but the chain suddenly snapped today and it was both the master links that went. Now i need to get some more im gonna buy like a 10 pack so im set for a while on both my karts

well just get this crap sorted out. use the 35 chain it should be enough make sure both sprockets arent worn down on the teeth make sure your using the right sprockets for the chain. make sure they are EXACTLY IN LINE use only 1 master link per chain and have little less then half inch of chain play and clean and lube your chain.
