Chain help?

Ok, so I took the split link off my chain. NOW I can't get it back on! HELP!

Are you referring to the master link? It might be tight, but you should be able to slide the pins back into the two ends of the chain using two pairs of pliers. Put the master link onto one side of the chain first and then use the two pliers to pull the two pieces of chain together close enough to slide it in. Otherwise, loosen your motor mounting bolts to slide the engine back, connect the master link, then slide the engine forward again to re-tighten the chain.

I didn't separate the chain, but I removed the little clip

In that case, you just put the clip half-way on by sliding the pin through the hole on the clip. Then pinch it together using a needle nose pliers with one end of the pliers on the pin and the other end on the round side of the clip.

It should just slide on. Remember that the closed side of the clip should face the direction of chain travel. The other way round it can be pulled off if it hooks on something

The pic below shows an easy way to get them on and off. That is what I do
