Wow. I've seen skip-tooth sprockets before, but that just seems like an odd thing to do to lose such a small amount of weight.

Also, why is there a water neck attached to your carb???

The sprocket is good, but I think I agree with the fact that it can move a lot, so the first step that is should do is change the sprocket ?

I have an Idea that would make replacing your sprocket much easier. Looks like your current sprocket is a 1 piece and you'd normally have to do a lot of work to remove it.
I saw you said you had 2 extra sprockets, are they 1 piece or split sprockets like the ones for sale here in this link? > http://www.cometkartsales.com/store/hrstman/ssg.htm

I just wanted you to know you could cut your old sprocket off with a hack saw and then simply install a new split sprocket without having to disassemble your rear axle. If you decide to buy a 2 piece sprocket, you'll find this link: http://www.gokartsupply.com/chain.htm has some info to confirm if your kart is set up for #35 size sprockets or not.

Im not sure if the current one is a 1 or 2, but I do have 2 other sprockets that are in 2 pieces. As far as a chain goes i purchased a #35 roller chain today and Hope it works for my kart. The chain that is on the cart now is a #35 but seems like its a better chain feels much thicker then the one i bought which is the same size.
