I've been workin' on a new style of EA racer

This one will be named Quicksilver
...& the design/style of this racer will be referred to as Celerity

Celerity (class) a group of vessels built to the same general design
Quicksilver (designation) an official name, title or label

This is a rough drawin' of the Sport Coupe style, that I have in mind

I'm going to try-n-incorporate roughly the same seatback & floorboard style angles & dimensions, of the Granite (monocoque) racer
...&/also, use them as an integrated internal triangulation method

Maybe kinda like this (mock up)

Initial idea mockup for the integrated internal triangulation method

The seatback & "tail" are on the left
...& the footboard & "nose" are on the right

A mockup of the integrated internal triangulation method
...with overall body concept

* Notice how the integrated internal triangulation method will help support
...& maintain the shape of the outer body/shell?
SAM_9262 (1).JPG
The rear wheel should go about here
...but, will be ~4 lower

A mockup with the integrated internal triangulation method
...with overall body concept
...& a side panel

* Notice the potential windows?

Hints of Giorgetto Giugiaro. I like it.
Hey Ez,

Never heard of that guy
...so, I looked 'em up

Giorgetto Giugiaro’s “Folded Paper” Auto Design Era

Giugiaro’s “folded paper” style is a 1970s–early 1980s design language defined by sharp creases, geometric planes, and crisp edges, marking a decisive shift from the organic curves of the 1960s

Origins and Development

The term “folded paper” refers to Giugiaro’s signature angular, planar aesthetic that emerged after his time at Bertone and Ghia, and was crystallized during his 1968–1970s run at Italdesign, The style’s roots can be traced to the 1967 De Tomaso Mangusta, which introduced flat surfaces and sharp lines, replacing the flowing curves of earlier Italian sports cars. Giugiaro himself later said he needed a distinctive style so clients wouldn’t think he was simply copying his employers.

He's the guy known for the "folded paper" automotive styling design/concept
&
He designed the "Back to the Future" Delorean
...& many other famous cars (& cameras, wrist watches, guns & pasta shapes too)

He's a FUNCTIONAL ARTIST :sifone:
&
Yup, I'm thinkin' & workin' with "flat surfaces and sharp lines"
...but. I'm also, try-n-to incorporate some "flowing curves" into this racer, too

For this mock-up, I'm using wood panels, for the flat surfaces
...& am just bowing them, to produce flowing curves

Aerodynamic body shape commentary:
The floor is mainly a full length, flat panel that goes from the "nose" back to the seatback
...then, gently curves up to the "tail"

The hood/roof is also, a full length flat panel that goes from the "nose" until the apex of the roof
...then, gently curves down to the "tail"

The idea is to gently part the air
...let the racer slip thru, without much disturbance
...& then, bring the air back together nice-n-gently

Specs.
The "nose" is ~8" tall
...& angles back just a bit
&
The "tail" is ~4" tall
...& is mostly perpendicular
&
The overall height (goal) is ~30" (~2 1/2')
&
The overall length will be ~96" (~8')

So, we have an overall shape (body)
...& an integrated internal triangulation method (spine)

* The integrated internal triangulation method will support & strengthen the body
...&/also, can be used for securely mounting & supporting the battery, seat, motor & axles

Next, up would be designing the sides
...& determining the overall construction method, that we are gonna use, ta bring 'er all together :cheers2:

Inspiration:
I was sitting behind a Toyota, at a traffic light
...& noticed that the "sides" curved at the top
...& then, connected to the roofline via some black (plastic) strips
&
Suddenly "envisioned" connecting the "sides" to my racer, kinda like that ;)
Then,
Thinkin' it thru, figured I could construct this racer using the Unibody method (also, like the Toyota)

Unibody (Unitized body)
A design & construction method where a vehicles body, floor pan & frame are built as a single, unified integrated load-bearing shell.

The strength comes from an internal network of stamped steel panels, box sections & bulkheads
...rather than just a thin outer skin
