carb mods

I got a 5hp briggs & stratton
and i wanted to no if there is an mods that i could do to the carb that dont cost any thing ?

If you were to add a straight pipe exhaust (thread a waterpipe into the exhaust port, about a foot of it) and upgrade the airfilter to a high flow filter, then I would infer you could re-jet the carb bit by bit until you found something that worked. A little goes a long way with rejetting, and you want to make sure that the hole is perfectly straight, not oblong. I have to warn you however, this is based on what I have learned from other posts around the forum, and I do not know if it's possible to re-jet a B&S carb, nor what gains you might net.

Sure I can jet a Mikuni, (pulls out screwdriver) but it takes to **** long.

I can change a jet in about 2-5 minutes. Once you get used to it it's realy fast.

Yeah I see what your saying but once a slide carb is setup it's awsome IMHO. I dont like dealing with Diaphram's.

You dont... Normally a carb come's with one jet where needed. And you drill the jet out to be perfect for your need's. Bit's come in increment's of 1,2,3,4. Jet's dont always so drilling is your best bet for the perfect jet.

Yes drilling jets is a way to do it, still requires you to waste 1 jet.

You gotta drill 1 jet a step over right to find the rich limit. i suppose you could solder the hole.
