You do know you must run a fuel pump with a tank whose outlet is below the carb, right?

or just un bolt the tank and put it above the carb if it runs leave it that way if it wont ignor what i just said

you do have the pump hooked up right don't you. there's usually an arrow to indicate the direction of flow

Your zip ties for clamps might be a problem, you could have a vacuum leak somewhere. What are you using for line? I recommend Tygon for everything.

those cable ties/zip ties give a good lock/seal on fuel line, used them on my bike before i got the propper clamps, so i dont think its them... might be a hard/ perished end though

i ant to familer with fuel pumps on small motors but i though they were on electric start motors that when you are turnin them over they keep a pretty good vacuum goin to keep the fuel pumping strong. If you got a pull start motor you might not be keepin enough vacuum to keep the fuel flowing. i ant for sure though. Zip ties do hold good i use them on stuff a bunch. Do your lines fit tight on your little push on things on your fuel if you get what im sayin. Ima grab a chair, sit down, and learn on this one.

Except for the pulse line if its going to be any longer then 5" or so.
what do you use for the pulse line?

But don't the fuel pump need a pretty good constant flow of vacuum to keep it working right? What i mean is a constant purging of the airflow.
What kind of motor are you using? It might not have enough vacuum or be pulling enough vacuum to work the fuel pump???

yeah im getting an apprentaship in heavy desiel mechanics i can make aus$100'000 a year thanks to the mining boom
also yes the fuel pump will need a constant vacume otherwise it fails to pump

Is this a square black plastic pump (walbro?) if so, I think on the side where there are two outlets, the top outlet is suppose to go to the carb and the bottom outlet is for the pulse line from the valve cover.
I maybe wrong, I'll have to check my engines at home, but I think that maybe the problem.
