I am seriously thinking about adding a cam, rod, and 18lb springs to my motor for the extra kick. I have already added a larger jet with the 140 emulsion tube, air filter and header. I have been looking and haven't really found what I have been looking for. What cam should I go with? Not really looking for a 10,000 rpm motor, just wanting a good low to mid rpm/horse power gain.

Thanks!!

Also note that when you do order one, make sure it is for your particular predator 212cc. (Hemi head or non Hemi head) I just installed a Dyno Mod 2 in my Predator 212cc w/Hemi head.

Pretty sure its a non hemi. Has thin stamped out valve cover not a cast one.

Best place for this cam?

Would it hurt if the valve stayed open a little longer (more duration)? They are out of stocl on the Jr but have the regular Black Mamba. According to specs the lift is the same but the duration is 246 V's 230.

There's a lot of difference in the manners of a 230 duration cam and a 246. The 230 cam is act pretty mild, not much more than stock, but a better power a lot of torque. A 246 duration cam is going to operate a higher overall RPM but make a lot more power. It just depends what you are wanting/expecting out the engine.

I want low to mid power so the jr would be best for me. However every one is out of stock. Is there another cam that is almost a twin to the mamba jr. ?

I believe I got the cam from omb.com. Not positive. I am at work right now but I can check for you in the moring when I get home if you want me to.

Sorry for the delay. Worked late. Ok so I git my cam from nrracing.com & I got my billet conrod and billet flywheel from omb.com. Not gonna give you part numbers because mine with the Hemi head will be different than your non Hemi head. So make sure you order the correct ones.

I just called arc racing and told them my motor specs and they picked it for me. It runs absolutely great. Has bottom end and a lot of top end also.

This seems to be working well for my engine(s).
1 GXC-412-00 Rod Guide Plate $5.20, DJ-1100 Ratio Rocker 1.7 $8.74, MOD2 Grind, Predator Core Dyno Cams $50. Find you some valve springs that are at around 22-24lb.

Just an update. No one has a Black Mamba Jr in stock (at least by the time I was ready to order) so I did call ARC and talk to them. They told me the MOD-II would do everything I want and then some so as of a couple hrs ago I have everything ordered to build my predator. I wasn't going to build it past what I have already done but when my brother in law copied me I figured why not! He won't know and you can't see a cam, billet rod etc so he will just think its a weight issue when I fly past him! :roflol:
