Hello I shall be beginning to build something I think will be exotic and amazing I plan to create a half size 1970 dodge charger pretty much identical to Dom's from the fast and furious #1 with a Honda CBR 900 RR engine I already have the full bike runs like a dream

I have a welder and I can cut myself I've done so previously for other projects and the frame I plan to basically square it I'd like to use square and just reinforce it so that I don't get all the tube frames are stronger attacks I feel square would be better for this type of body that I want will build the frame and possibly use clay to sculpt with fiberglass the body parts like some people do to make they're own body kits for cars or I should just use sheet metal and have it bent into shape for a much stronger body that won't be completely ruined if I ever roll it or some other bizarre event

Sounds like quite the project. But first if you want any help here, you need to learn what these are,

Alrighty I can do that, I could use some help with what I should go with for a nice Axel. I doubt I can use the normal 1inch from bmikarts I'll get one cut specially, I'd use one off a 150-250cc buggy that people sell but I feel I need a longer Axel to have my wheels further apart for more roll resistance.

Axles are available in sizes other than 1"; most suppliers also have 1 1/4"; BMI make custom axles IIRC...

The length of the axle is determined by the dimensions of the car, which involves you doing some math...

So has anyone used a 1 1/4th axel for a kart with 100 plus hp not the normal 25hp or less motors

It's not necessarily about the axle itself but, what you put on it...

Unless it takes a hard hit, there's not much that will damage an axle but, I've seen a few sprocket, brake & wheel hubs explode or simply let go under "normal" operating conditions...

It takes a lot to bend or damage a piece of 1" solid steel, it takes a lot more to damage 1 1/4"; it doesn't take very much at all to destroy an incorrect hub...
